Please join me in welcoming Mahogany Browne and Penmanship Books to our list of P4 Partners!

As we're gearing up operations here at P4, we're working diligently to build our support base.  We're excited to partner with both individuals and with organizations who are dedicated to celebrating the art of Slam Poetry.  Of all the individuals and groups we want in our corner, very few are as influential and important as Mahogany Browne!

Mahogany is the long time slammaster of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, a Cave Canem and Poets House alumnae, and is the author of several books including Dear Twitter: Love Letters Hashed Out On-line. She has released five LPs including the live album Sheroshima. Mo has toured Germany, Amsterdam, England, Canada and her poetry has been published in literary journals Pluck, Manhattanville Review, Muzzle, Union Station Mag, Literary Bohemian, Bestiary, Joint & The Feminist Wire. 

Her publishing house, Penmanship Books, was created when Mahogany found the hierarchy of literary world painfully silent and unyielding. She created Penmanship as the answer to the performance poet’s publishing problem.  Penmanship’s purpose is to become the anchor for publishing performance poets and live artists with a huge fan base in the hard to crack literary world.

Mahogany has been a long time friend and supporter of P4, and I'm thrilled to add Penmanship Books to our list of Partner Organizations!
